Gwynfyd is a Brythonic term for describing joy, which in the context of Gwynfyd Thinking, is a conscious method for creating it.
Whether we call it ‘satisfaction’, ‘happiness’ or a personal state of ‘contentment’, what we desire in life generally equates to some sense of personal success if we can manage to achieve it … if we can feel fulfilled and are happy about it … if we can be the best we can be and enjoy the extra effort of trying harder … and if we can live through all the difficulties in our life and still believe it was worth living for!
… OK, but where does the thinking bit come into it?
Well, when we consciously consider another perspective or let ourselves see something from another point of view, we allow our mind to be freed of fixed and limiting ideas. Things we have assumed or clung to because we felt safe going with the flow rather than pausing to think about it.
But then when we do, when we Gwynfyd Think and challenge everything we had accepted without questioning, we start to grow, enabling ourselves to see the bigger picture, sometimes identifying a more honest one.
When to change your mind!
By practicing Gwynfyd Thinking, and integrating it into a personal development plan, individuals can:
manage their personal viewpoints
unlock their creative potential, and
improve their state of mind
Does Gwynfyd Thinking involve anything else?
